Hans Zimmer

German composer who has written music for over 100 films and is considered one of the most talented and influential contemporary composers.

Born in West Germany, he began playing piano when he was 3, and when he was 6, he decided he wanted to become a composer. The death of his father at that age might have contributed to this decision as music was his refuge. He moved to London as a teenager, where his complete dedication to music interfered with his performance at school. When he finally finished school, he began his music career by writing jingles for commercials and playing in rock bands. He then started his early part part of his career by collaborating with composer Stanley Myers, who became his mentor by teaching him about film music.
At the beginning, he played keyboards and synthesisers.

A turning point came when he was asked to write music for the film "Rain Man, which was then nominated for Best Original Score and won the Oscar for the Best Picture. Then came the music for "Lion King". In the 2000s, Zimmer composed scores for Hollywood Blockbuster films, including "The Gladiator" , "The Pirates of the Caribbean", the "Da Vinci Code", "Mission Impossible, "Inception", "Sherlock Holmes", and "Interstellar".

His music artfully combines traditional orchestral music with electronics. His remarkable work has been nominated in total by 4 Grammy Awards, 3 BRIT Awards, 2 Golden Globes and 1 Academy Award.
